Covid-19
Covid-19 Procedures
Proper hand washing for 20 seconds will be taught and implemented upon:
Arrival
Before/after playing outside, washroom time, eating, playing with certain objects etc....
After, sneezing, coughing both of which will be into an elbow
Paper towels will be used for proper drying of hands.
Frequently touched surfaces will be properly disinfected a few times per day as per instructions from Fraser Health
I will be scanning each child upon arrival for signs of not feeling well.
Parents, please drop off/pick up your child outside the daycare door to help keep extra germs from entering. You can text me to come Outside to receive/return your child.
If a child has a new cough, runny nose or becomes feverish, and/or Shows typical symptoms of a cold or flu, I will separate them from the other children, call the parent/guardian requesting immediate pickup. I do have a separate room right beside the daycare area that has its own washroom that I will use for only that sick child. Upon leaving that room will not be used again until it is properly disinfected.
The child can then return to daycare after no Symtoms of the cold/flu exist and after they have tested negative for Covid-19, as per outline by Fraser Health. The Covid-19 results are usually available 24H after testing.
There will be no sharing of food. Children will be set up to eat 2M apart.
We do lots of outside playing and projects at my daycare anyways, but we will be doing even more as the Health Authorities say that is the safest place to play.
Please check this tab frequently as Rules and Regulations change daily/ weekly in this new normal.
Updated COVID-19 Policy Dec 10, 2020
If your child has been ill, Fraser Health no longer requires a negative test result before returning to daycare.
Your child will be welcomed back to daycare when they are up to participating in all activities AND they have none of the following symptoms:
Fever
Cough (Unless its Chronic and not worse)
Shortness of Breath
Loss of taste or smell
Diarrhea
Nausea or Vomiting
As the owner operator of Debbie's Daycare if I have any of the above symptoms, I will call my will call my backup person Catharine to fill in until I am able to safely return. If for some reason Catharine is unable to fill in, parents will be required to keep their child home until i am able to safely return or Catharine could fill in. If I became suddenly ill during daycare, i will stay a safe distance away from the children, put on my face mask and call Catharine to relieve me. If she could not not, I would call parents to picked up ASAP.
As you see from the symptoms list, runny nose, headache and sore throat are no longer part of symptoms list, but please if your child has these issues, only send them to day care when they are able to participate fully in my outdoor program.
